My Story
Dr. Ingryd J. Lorenzana, OD, FAAO, FCOVD, CBHP, is an internationally recognized Neuro-Developmental Pediatric and Neuro-Optometrist. She is also a brain injury survivor whose lived experience fuels everything she writes.
Dr. Lorenzana holds dual fellowships in both the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (FOVDRA). She earned her doctorate from the Illinois College. She has served as a faculty for the Illinois College of Optometry, Southern College of Optometry, and adjunct faculty for Western University’s Chicago College of Optometry and Western University’s College of Optometry.
With more than 20 certifications across concussion rehabilitation, neurodevelopment, polyvagal-informed therapy, sensory processing, functional neurology, and brain-based wellness; including training from the Amen Clinics, and Advanced Brain Technologies, she brings a multidimensional approach to her approach. Her work bridges functional medicine, neuroplasticity, and visual-brain rehabilitation with compassion and lived understanding. Her groundbreaking clinical work has earned national and international recognition, including the “3D Eye Doctor of the Year” Award from the Hollywood Advanced Imaging Society, America’s Top Optometrist, and the Influential Women in Business Award by the Daily Herald.
But beyond her credentials, what truly defines Dr. Lorenzana is her unwavering belief that we are all born with our light shining bright, and that life’s challenges are not meant to dim that light, but to shape us. Her life’s work is rooted in the conviction that healing is both scientific and soulful: that the brain can be retrained, that the heart can stay open, and that every struggle carries within it the potential for transformation.
